What to Bring

Fly Fishing in the south is a year round option. During a normal year we'll experience lot's of mild weather, along with some hot summer days and plenty of cold winter days. The key is to dress appropriately. Listed below is a list of items you may need.

Year Round

  • Hat.
  • Polarized Glasses for Rx wearers, we do have some non Rx sunglasses for loan at no additional charge.
  • Sunscreen.
  • Light Rain Gear.
  • Camera. We carry a digital camera with us but lot's of times clients may want to snap a few shots of their own.
  • Any special medications such as bee sting etc.

Summer

  • Light, comfortable clothing. Shorts and light shirts are best suited for the summer time temperatures.
  • Sandals or tennis shoes.
  • Waders and nonstudded wading boots. Some rivers are fine for wet wading in the summer while others are too cold so it never hurts to have the waders along just in case.

Winter

  • Layered clothing with a focus on wool and synthetics. Layers can be removed if temperatures warm but cannot be added if you don't bring them.
  • Fleece gloves.
  • Toboggan.
  • Waders and wading boots. Only necessary when planning on getting in the water. Lot's of float trips can be made without ever getting out of the boat.

Fall and Spring

  • It's a good ideal to dress in a few layers with light clothing on the bottom. This will insure you comfort if the days are warm or cold
  • Waders and wading boots.
