Rod Salyers

Rod has been a pioneer in the fly fishing industry for more than 20 years. In1992, Rod founded Tight Line Fly Fishing, LLC and has operated the business as the principal owner ever since. Rod has spent the last 15 years developing creative methods for catching smallmouth bass on a fly rod and is consider one of the industries foremost experts on the species. He has written "Seasonal Tactics for Southern Smallmouth" and is on-staff with Riverborn Fly Company as a Master Tyer. Each year Rod creates some of the very flies that we all buy in fly shops. Don't be fooled though, his creative genius doesn't stop with smallmouth. Rod is known in the industry for perfecting the art of catching "Trout of a Lifetime" for many anglers. His skills and knowledge of the sport are second to none and he can teach them to beginners and advanced anglers alike. Rod is a pro-staff member for Thomas & Thomas Fly Rods, Abel Reels, Cortland Line Company, Dan Baileys, Renzetti and Riverborn Fly Company. Rod is also a Master Tyer for Riverborn fly company with more than a dozen commercially available patterns to his credit. Rod also enjoys traveling and spending time with his daughter Jessie.

Jay Seaman

Jay has been fly fishing since he was five years old. A former client of Tight Line Fly Fishing, Jay's love of the sport grew into a passion that sparked a dual career. Jay has spent the past seven years working weekdays in Charlotte , NC and spending almost every weekend on one of the rivers in NE Tennessee . An owner in tight Line Fly Fishing, Jay pursues his love of fishing and business and couldn't think of a better way to live life. His fishing knowledge is vast and his ability to teach, particularly beginners makes our clients come back again and again. Jay is a pro-staff member for RO Driftboats and a guide staff member for Thomas & Thomas Rods, Abel Reels, Cortland Line Company, Dan Baileys, Renzetti, and Riverborn Fly Company. Jay also enjoys wing-shooting and fly tying.
